Welcome to the Future of… Everything In Your Agency?
The way you do business at your web agency is about to be disrupted — positively, though, we promise. It has for our web agency HIREAWIZ.
Tasks that used to take your team many hours or even days to do could now take as little as a few minutes to a couple of hours. Even better, you can complete these tasks at no cost to you.
What are we referring to? The answer is artificial intelligence — specifically ChatGPT.
You already use artificial intelligence robots and platforms regularly, such as when you make requests from Siri, Alexa, or similar AI assistants.
However, what you've seen these sorts of robots do is just the tip of the AI iceberg.
So, what can ChatGPT help you do to grow your agency more quickly and at a lower cost? That’s what you’re about to find out in this guide.
Let’s start at the beginning…
Table of Contents
What is ChatGPT?
ChatGPT is an artificial intelligence robot trained using millions of high-quality sources to recognize natural language. This AI robot can interact with you to answer questions, brainstorm, create content, act as a consultant, help you with your marketing, and much more. This guide will help you make the most of ChatGPT at your web or digital marketing agency.
How to Use This Guide
If you’re new to ChatGPT, this guide will provide an overview of how the artificial intelligence robot works and what it can do for you. You’ll then get a list of specific ways to use ChatGPT at your agency, along with the relevant prompts you can use and examples of different ways to use these prompts.
The Benefits of Using ChatGPT in Your Agency
ChatGPT can save you time and money by assisting you in various ways. Indeed, some of the most common market research, content creation, coding, and marketing tasks you do daily in your agency can be "outsourced" – at least partly – to ChatGPT.
Although OpenAI recently launched a paid plan, for the time being, ChatGPT is completely free to use if you don’t want to invest in a paid plan for the bonus features. It works well, aside from the occasional timeout due to demand, and it creates output in a few seconds. When you work with ChatGPT, it’s like adding multiple highly skilled employees to your team. This is one of the best tools you’ve seen in ages to boost your productivity while cutting costs.
Understanding ChatGPT
Using ChatGPT is straightforward. You input a "prompt" relevant to the information you need or the task you want to be done, and the bot provides text-based answers or other content. What makes ChatGPT so easy to use is that it’s been taught to recognize natural language. In other words, you don’t need to memorize exact commands to get ChatGPT to do what you want.
Now having said that the key to getting great results from ChatGPT is what some people call "prompt engineering."
For simple tasks, such as getting an answer to a question, you simply need to ask the question. For more complex tasks – such as crafting content – you’ll need to offer more specific prompts with plenty of details. ChatGPT may be good, but it’s not a mind reader. As such, more detailed prompts will get you better results.
For example, suppose you want ChatGPT to create a blog article for you. A simplistic prompt maybe something like this:
Please write an article about how web agencies can benefit from using web audits.
ChatGPT will dutifully create your article, but you may be disappointed if it’s not what you had in mind. You can get better results in this example by providing more detail in your prompt. In this specific example, you’ll want to consider these questions:
- How long do you want the article to be?
- What particular points do you want ChatGPT to cover?
- Do you want ChatGPT to create the article using any particular writing style?
- Do you want to include any special features in the article? For example, do you want the article to share a story or case study about how a web agency used web audits to double its leads?
And so on. You’ll want to think through exactly how you envision the result, and then give ChatGPT the details it needs to create the content.
Let’s take the example prompt above and add detail to it:
Please write a 500-word article about three ways web agencies can benefit from using web audits. The three ways should include using web audits to generate leads, using web audits to close leads, and using web audits to provide extra value for existing customers. Please also note that web audits help agencies establish their expertise.
This added detail will provide much more useful output. However, if you’re still not happy with the result, you can ask ChatGPT to rewrite the content or add something to the content. E.G., "Please rewrite the article to include information about ______________."
That’s just one example of how you can use ChatGPT. To give you an idea of the many ways you can use AI at your agency, here is an overview of some of the ChatGPT use cases in web and digital marketing agencies:
- Help with search engine optimization, including suggesting keywords, extracting keywords from specific pieces of content, and providing you.
- Content creation, from ideation to the creation of the content itself, to proofing content.
- Market research, such as helping you develop customer avatars and then giving you tips for what to sell to the audience and how to reach them.
And much, much more.
But before we get into the specific use cases and examples, let’s talk about the limitations of this AI platform.
ChatGPT’s Limitations
As you begin using ChatGPT, you will be impressed — and maybe even a little startled — at what it can do for you. However, you’ll want to keep the following limitations in mind.
ChatGPT Has a Knowledge Cut-Off
At the time of writing this guide, ChatGPT has only been trained on information until 2021. The bot will likely be trained more in the future, but the same limitation will likely exist; it will probably have a knowledge cut-off of some date. As such, you won’t be able to use ChatGPT to gather the most up-to-date data and other information.
For example, SEO is a constantly evolving topic. If you ask ChatGPT for SEO tips, it will give you the best tips up until its knowledge cut-off. However, something may have changed since the bot was last trained, so you may be missing crucial information.
The bottom line is that ChatGPT works best when you’re asking it to complete more "evergreen" tasks.
ChatGPT Isn’t Always Correct
The bot is very impressive when it comes to outputting information. Even Google is feeling threatened, as they can see that, eventually, many people will ask for information from ChatGPT instead of searching with Google.
However, ChatGPT isn’t always 100% correct. It’s been trained using millions of sources of information, and most of the time, it works great. But every so often, users get incorrect output, such as incorrect data or facts.
The point here is that when you gather information from ChatGPT, double-check it with other credible sources to be sure it’s correct.
ChatGPT May Have Biases
ChatGPT’s developers have gone to great lengths to try to prevent GPT from outputting offensive material, such as racist or sexist content. However, a bot is only as good as those who are training it, so you may see biases from time to time pop up when you’re asking it to create content. This is why you’ll always want to scrutinize any output in case you need to tweak or remove content that shows an unwanted bias.
Using ChatGPT May Not Be Ethical in All Situations
Before you use ChatGPT, you’ll want to consider whether it’s ethical in your particular situation. Be sure not to mislead your clients, business partners, or other associates about how you’re using ChatGPT.
For example, if you use ChatGPT to help you create a piece of content, then you’ll need to determine if it’s ethical to withhold that information from people or if you should inform relevant parties.
As a specific example, here’s my disclaimer: we used ChatGPT to create the outline for this guide, and in a few instances, we asked ChatGPT to come up with specific prompts and examples. As a rough guess, ChatGPT contributed about 5% to this guide, while humans created and reviewed the rest.
ChatGPT Use Cases For Web & Digital Marking Agencies
Now that you understand how the AI platform works and its limitations, it’s time for us to turn our attention to specific use cases. We’ll be examining multiple uses and examples under the following four categories:
- Master SEO
- Create Content
- Augment Your Marketing Team / Use as a Junior Employee
- Learn About Your Customers (Or Your Client’s Customers)
- Get Help With Developer Tasks
Let’s get started…
Master Search Engine Optimization
ChatGPT can help you create targeted keyword lists, provide tips for on-page optimization, give you ideas of where to collect backlinks, and even create optimized content.
Extract Keywords
If you’re doing competition research, you need to know what keywords your competitors (or clients’ competitors) are using. ChatGPT can help you extract keywords from content.
Prompt
Please extract the keywords from the following webpage: https://www.mywebaudit.com/blog/agency-guide-to-quarterly-or-annual-client-reviews
Framework
Please extract the keywords from the following [webpage or content you pasted in – if using a webpage, include the URL as shown above in the prompt].
Examples
Please extract the top keywords from this webpage:

Provide Keyword Ideas
Another way that ChatGPT can help you with SEO is by providing keyword ideas. You can show ChatGPT a webpage or other content to help you generate a relevant list of keywords. You can also ask ChatGPT to provide general keyword ideas for a topic.
Prompt
Please provide a suggested list of keywords to target for this website: https://www.mywebaudit.com
Framework
Please provide a suggested list of keywords to target [for this content – either provide a web link or paste in content]
Examples
Please provide a suggested list of keywords to target for a website about a home remodeling contractor in Atlanta, Georgia.
Please provide a suggested list of keywords to target for a website about chiropractors located in Missoula, Montana.
Please provide a suggested list of keywords to target for this website in Phoenix, Arizona: https://www.mywebaudit.com/
Screenshot
Provide On-Page Optimization Ideas
ChatGPT can essentially create a mini checklist for you to use when you’re doing on-page optimization for a website. This is a good feature when you’re auditing a website.
Prompt
Please provide tips for optimizing the following page:
URL: https://www.mywebaudit.com/blog/generate-leads-from-your-agency-website
Framework
Please provide tips for optimizing the following page:
URL: [insert URL]
Examples
No further examples are needed, as the input and output are essentially the same when completing this task.

Create Optimized Content
ChatGPT can help you create new content optimized around a particular keyword. Alternatively, it can help you optimize existing content for a particular keyword.
Prompts
Please create a 400-word article optimized for the keyword “housetraining a puppy.” Please include an example schedule of when to take a puppy outside.
Framework
Please create [a specific type of content of a specific length] optimized for the keyword [insert keyword]. [Add extra detail as desired to get the exact type of article you’re envisioning.]

Create Content
ChatGPT can supplement the work of a copywriter or content writer for your web agency. Here are the specific use cases.
Craft Sales Copy
ChatGPT can create sales content for you, such as sales letters and ads. The more specific you are with your prompt, the better the result will be. You can use this sales content to sell your agency services, or you can use ChatGPT to create sales content for your clients’ sites. I’ve provided both agency and non-agency examples below for that reason.
One weakness of ChatGPT’s sales copy is that the AI creates what some experts call “marketing happy talk.” It may look good when you read it, but you’ll quickly realize you need to tweak it to make it more effective.
Our agency understands the importance of effective copy and have invested tens of thousands of dollars in copywriting services. So even though we are impressed with ChatGPT, for now, we still think of ChatGPT as a junior copywriter – it can lay down a foundation so you or another expert copywriter can go through and tweak it to make it resonate with your audience and sell more effectively. For those of you who have been working with outsourced content and copy just to get it posted on a site, you may find ChatGPT better than your outsourced provider.
Prompt
Please create a 100-word advertisement to sell a pair of women’s leather closed-toe high heel shoes.
Framework
Please create a [length] [type of sales content] to sell [description of the item you want to sell]. [If desired, include specific benefits that you want to be written into the sales copy.]
Examples
Please create a short advertisement to sell web development and social media marketing services for a web agency.
Please create a short advertisement to sell a hydroponic gardening kit. The benefit of this kit is that it costs less than the competing kits, yet it’s durable and lasts longer.
Please create a mid-length advertisement to sell home remodeling services. Please include points and benefits related to the following: the company has over 20 years of experience; the company is bonded and insured; the company guarantees to deliver on time and within budget.
Screenshot
Create Articles
ChatGPT can help you craft various content, including emails, blog articles, social media content, and more.
NOTE: In this section of our guide, we’ll focus on content such as blog articles. Later in this guide, you’ll learn about crafting content such as emails with ChatGPT.
Two notes to keep in mind:
- Remember that, as of this writing, ChatGPT was trained until 2021, so it will be unable to create content around more current information for now.
- You’ll see the best results if you use the generated content as a foundation for your article, and then tweak the content to improve it, personalize it, and ensure it resonates with your audience.
Prompt
Please create a short article with three tips for choosing a chiropractor.
Framework
Please create [a specific type and length of content] [in this style] [on this topic]. [List any particular points you want to include in the content – or leave this part out and let ChatGPT come up with the points to include.]
Examples
Please write a 1000-word article about why local business owners should hire a web agency. Include these three reasons: time savings, generating more leads, and better ROI.
Please write a 500-word article describing how to save money when buying a new home. Include tips on how to secure a low-interest mortgage.
Please create a 1000-word article about overcoming social anxiety. Create this article for people aged 20-40 years old who get anxious at parties, at work meetings, and in college classes.
Screenshot
Provide Content Swipes
When you’re feeling a little stuck when crafting content, ChatGPT can serve as a swipe file to inspire you. For example, it can provide multiple examples and swipes of email subject lines, headlines, guarantees, postscripts, and more.
As always, you can ask ChatGPT to refine your results. For example, we asked it to provide us with three ad headlines for a web agency selling marketing consults. One of its swipes was “Transform Your Marketing Efforts with Our Customized Consulting Solutions.” We asked it to refine that answer by being more specific, and it answered: “Maximize Your ROI with Our Personalized Marketing Consulting Solutions.”
You’ll need to refine the content that ChatGPT gives you, but the platform can give you ideas about how to tweak and refine its outputs. You can also click “regenerate response” to get another set of outputs.
Prompt
Please provide five email subject lines announcing a flash sale on CBD oil that’s 50% off for the next 24 hours.
Framework
Please provide [number] [type of content swipe you need] for [a particular piece of content] [about a specific topic].
Examples
Please provide 10 headline ideas for a sales page that’s selling drones with high-definition cameras.
Please provide three ad headlines for an advertisement for a web agency that’s selling marketing consulting for local businesses in the healthcare field, such as mental health counselors, chiropractors, dentists, and family physicians.
Please provide five email subject lines for an email about how to choose a
chiropractor.
Screenshot
Translate Content
ChatGPT can translate content between languages. For example, if you’re doing research and you run into a web page written in Spanish, you can ask it to translate the page into English (or vice versa). You can do the same thing when you’re the one creating the content. For example, you can translate one of your English-language blog posts into Spanish, Portuguese, German, French, Japanese, and more.
To be clear, it goes without saying that you likely won’t be able to gauge the results if it’s in a foreign language. Be sure to check with an expert and have them review grammar, accuracy, and cultural nuance.
Prompt
Please translate this article into Spanish.
Framework
Please translate [this piece of content] into [language].
Examples
Please translate this content into Spanish: [insert article].
Please translate this email into French: [insert email].
Please translate this content into English: [insert foreign-language content].
Screenshot
Proof Your Content
ChatGPT will proofread your content, offering alternative ways to construct certain sentences.
Prompt
Please proofread the content:
I don’t consider myself great at sales. I don’t have a way with words like some of my fellow agency owners do. And yet I regularly close five-figure deals and the occasional six-figure deal. How is that possible? Simple: I avoid the “slick salesman” talk that some agency owners use. Instead, I position myself as a trusted advisor, and I lead with value.
Framework
Please [provide some sort of specific proofing/grammar/rewriting suggestion] for this content: [insert content]
Examples
Please proofread this content: [insert content]
Please provide an alternative way to write this content: [insert content]
Please offer grammar suggestions for this content: [insert content]
Screenshot
Craft Presentations / Speeches / Talks
If you give any type of presentation or talk at your agency, ChatGPT can help you create your speech. You can offer a length and present the talking points you want to cover in your speech. You can even ask ChatGPT to create the speech in the style of a famous person if you so choose, or as a specific type of person.
Prompt
Please write a 300-word speech on the topic of SEO. Include points on on-page optimization and off-page optimization. Write it as a marketing consultant.
Framework
Please write a [length] speech about [topic]. Include points on [insert points you want to cover]. Write it as [famous person or a type of person].
Examples
Please write a short speech about home remodeling. Include points on kitchen remodeling, bedroom remodeling, and bathroom remodeling. Write it as a general contractor.
Please write a 400-word speech about choosing a web agency. Include points on checking the agency’s portfolio and getting a price quote. Write it as the owner of a web agency.
Please write a 10-minute speech about the importance of doing a website audit. Please include five tips for completing a website audit.
Screenshot
Generate FAQ’s
ChatGPT can help you generate a list of frequently asked questions about a topic. You can use this function to generate FAQ’s about your agency, create FAQ’s about the services you provide, write FAQ’s for your client’s content, and more. You can also have ChatGPT output the answers for these questions if you choose.
Prompt
Please generate a list of frequently asked questions related to web agencies.
Framework
Please generate a list of frequently asked questions related to [some topic].
You can also insert instructions about whether ChatGPT should answer the questions. Alternatively, you can present a follow-up request asking ChatGPT to answer all or part of the questions in the list it generated. E.G., “Please answer questions 7, 8, and 10 from the list you just created.” (You can limit the length of the answers if you choose.)
Examples
Please generate a list of frequently asked questions related to estate attorneys. Please answer the questions as well.
Please generate a list of frequently asked customer-service questions for a retail business that sells jewelry.
Please generate a list of frequently asked customer-service questions for the Canon Sure Shot digital camera.

Ask ChatGPT to Act As A Certain Kind of Person
When you ask ChatGPT for help, you can ask it to help you as if it is a specific type of person. Examples include asking the AI platform to act as an advertiser, copywriter, web developer, web consultant and similar.
Prompt
Act as a web development consultant and present a home-remodeling company with a plan for creating a website to generate leads.
Framework
Act as [a specific type of person]. [Perform this specific type of task].

Write an Advertising Jingle
ChatGPT can craft creative works such as poetry and stories, although since art is subjective, your opinion of their quality will undoubtedly differ from ours or someone else’s. Either way, you can use its creative streak to your advantage by asking it to create advertising jingles for your agency or your client’s businesses.
Prompt
Please write an advertising jingle that web agencies in Phoenix can use to sell their services in a radio ad.
Framework
Please write an advertising jingle [for a specific type of business or to sell a particular product or service]. [Optionally, you can add specific points you want to cover in the jingle, such as a unique selling position or other benefits.]

Learn About Your Customers (Or Your Client's Customers)
Chat GPT can help you grow your brand and better target your audience (or your clients) by creating a buyer persona and a customer avatar.
Sometimes people use these terms interchangeably, but there is a difference – and ChatGPT understands the difference, so it will create different outputs depending on what you ask.
A buyer persona is essentially a composite of the characteristics of customers in a particular niche. You can think of customer avatars as the ideal customer – that one perfect person who purchases a specific product or service. We’ll discuss avatars and personas below.
Create Customer Avatars
When you ask for a customer avatar, ChatGPT will provide useful information such as the customer’s age, personality characteristics, goals, and challenges. This function can help you understand your clients, as well as provide information about your client’s customers.
Prompt
Please provide a customer avatar for a CEO at a midsize company that manufactures luxury automobiles.
Framework
Please provide a customer avatar for [specific type of person].
Examples
Please provide a customer avatar for a small business owner in the Midwest who’s seeking web consultancy services.
Please provide a customer avatar for women over 40 who do bodybuilding.
Please provide a customer avatar for a manager at a midsize home remodeling and construction company.

Create a Buyer Persona
ChatGPT can help you draw up a composite of your customers, including demographic information, behavioral information, and more.
Prompt
Please create a buyer persona for business owners who hire marketing consultants in the United States.
Framework
Please create a buyer persona for [describe the type of customer and niche].

Get Help With Developer Tasks
ChatGPT has a wide knowledge base on technical topics, which means you can use the platform as a web developer. Check out these use cases.
Create Code Snippets
ChatGPT understands HTML, Python, C++, Java, JavaScript and more, which means that the bot can help you create code snippets. This is useful for developers who need a reminder of how to write a specific piece of code, plus it’s also useful for non-developers who need simple code (such as the HTML snippet to create a table, add an alt-text image caption and so on).
Prompt
Please generate HTML code to display a table with two columns.
Framework
Please generate [type of code] [based on our description of what you want].
Examples
Please generate a Python function that takes a list of numbers as input and returns the sum of the squares of all the numbers in the list.
Please generate a C++ function that takes two integers as input and returns the maximum of the two.
Please an HTML code snippet that creates a header and a paragraph.

Debug Code
If you’re having issues with a buggy piece of code, ChatGPT may be able to help. Just input the code and let the bot offer suggestions for fixing the issue.
Prompt
Please debug this code:
#include <iostream> int max(int a, int b){ return (a > b) ? a : b, }
Framework
Please debug this code: [insert your code]
Examples
Please debug this code:
<?php function sum($a, $b){ return $a + $b } ?>Please debug this code:
<?php function fibonacci($x,$y){ $c += $x + $y; return $c; } ?>

Bonus: Using AI For Design Tasks
ChatGPT is built on top of OpenAI. Open AI also powers another language model called DALL·E 2, which creates realistic images and art based on simple descriptions using natural language. There are other AI tools like Midjourney and Craiyon that work similarly.
As a web designer or graphic designer, there are several use cases for AI models like DALL·E 2 that can enhance your design process. I’ll cover a few popular ones here.
One important point I want to note here is that these models use existing content, in this case, images, to create new ones. Suppose you are creative or someone who appreciates the effort it takes to create beautiful art, photography, or designs for apps or websites. In that case, you may have issues with AI generating art or images similar to yours or other artists’ work or styles without credit, approval, or payment. This is a raging debate that will hopefully have some resolution for all sides as AI evolves.
Let us continue…
Image Creation
AI can be used to generate images for use in web designs and graphic design projects. This can include creating images for blog posts, social media posts, website banners, and more. Provide a textual description of the image you need, and tools like DALL·E 2 can generate them for you. Extensions like https://synthesys.io/ let you generate unique images of images you like online. With a few clicks.
Visual Content
In addition to images, AI can generate other types of visual content, such as infographics, charts, and graphs. This can be useful for presenting data and information in an engaging and visually appealing way. Tools like https://zoomscape.ai/ allow you to create stunning zoom backgrounds, and https://interiorai.com/ allows you to get mockups of what a room can be decorated like in minutes without an interior designer. I’ve shared these as examples of how many industries are being revolutionized via AI.
Design Inspiration
AI can also be used as a source of inspiration for design projects. By entering a few keywords or a brief description, you can get a range of unique and creative images to spark your creativity. I believe, as of now Midjourney does this the best. This new site in Beta allows you to create screen mockups with text-based descriptions https://www.usegalileo.ai/.
Customization
AI can be used to generate images that are specific to your brand or product. You can get custom images that align with your brand and design aesthetic by providing specific details or instructions.
Time-saving
All of these tools literally take seconds to generate the images and can be refined in minutes with the right propers. This can save time and effort in the design process by quickly generating high-quality images and design concepts that meet your design or client’s design needs. This can be especially useful for designers who need to produce a large amount of visual content in a short amount of time.
There is so much happening in the space of AI for art and imagery. I highly recommend you listen to some podcasts, do some research on Google and watch YouTube videos to learn more.
Conclusion: What is Our Impression of ChatGPT?
Even though we’ve provided you with a wide variety of examples, we’ve only scraped the surface of what ChatGPT can do for your agency.
Just reading this guide may have given you additional ideas on how to use ChatGPT. If so, we encourage you to write down those ideas and start experimenting with the prompts.
Our overall impression is that ChatGPT can help agency owners save time and money, help with complex tasks, and provide ideas for creative endeavors.
Despite all the value that the platform provides, however, at this point, human intervention is still required at this time.
ChatGPT is, after all, a “generative” tool, not a “creative” one. It strings together outputs based on what it has learned about all the other outputs that are similar to what you’ve asked it to do. For example, if you ask, “What did the quick brown fox do?” then ChatGPT will likely tell you that the quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog. However, it might not — which is both the exciting and frustrating thing about AI as it currently exists.
Make no mistake — a tool like ChatGPT does an incredible job of generating its outputs, and you might find that it suits your purposes perfectly. Check out https://www.futurepedia.io/ for other upcoming AI projects and tools you could use to grow your business.
Keep in mind that although it can write about agencies, what it can’t do is ask questions about your particular agency. It can’t talk to people using your services to find out what’s most important to them. It can’t synthesize all of that information and recommend, “This is what you should be saying on your home page.”
In other words, it can’t create…. It can generate VERY quickly, but it can’t come up with anything truly new and surprising. At least for now. This will also change as conversation AI evolves and can process content in real-time.
The platform also makes mistakes from time to time with its output. In addition, as we’ve said, the human touch is definitely needed for things like sales copy and informative content, where the words may look good at first glance but may be more than marketing happy talk or well-worn cliches. This also applies to image creation and coding.
Despite the platform’s limitations today, the future of ChatGPT in digital marketing is bright. ChatGPT is only going to continue to improve. In addition, other platforms are in development, and they may overcome some of ChatGPT’s current limitations.
Our recommendation is to start using ChatGPT today in your agency. It may have limitations, but perhaps it is no more limited than your average employee. And unlike your average employee, ChatGPT is only going to get smarter. It also works tirelessly, and – for now – it’s free to use unless you want to pay for the paid plan.
